Job Description: Duty Officer - Airport Operations<br><br>Location: Nairobi<br><br><strong>Position Overview<br><br></strong>We are seeking a skilled and proactive Duty Officer to manage the operational activities for our client. The Duty Officer will play a key role in ensuring smooth flight operations, exceptional passenger services, and compliance with safety regulations. This position requires quick decision-making abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to operational excellence.<br><br><strong>Key Responsibilities<br><br></strong>Flight Operations Coordination:<br><br>Collaborate closely with flight crews, ground handlers, and air traffic control to ensure timely departures, safe landings, and efficient aircraft turnaround.<br><br>Coordinate flight schedules, gate assignments, and boarding procedures to maintain on-time performance.<br><br><strong>Passenger Services<br><br></strong>Oversee passenger check-in, boarding processes, and baggage handling to ensure seamless travel experiences for passengers.<br><br>Address passenger inquiries, concerns, and special requirements professionally and promptly.<br><br><strong>Safety And Security<br><br></strong>Ensure strict adherence to aviation safety and security protocols, including aircraft security checks and emergency response procedures.<br><br>Collaborate with airport security personnel to maintain a secure and safe environment.<br><br><strong>Operational Oversight<br><br></strong>Monitor aircraft movement on the apron, taxiways, and runways to ensure safe and efficient operations.<br><br>Coordinate with ground handlers, fueling teams, and maintenance personnel to facilitate smooth operations.<br><br><strong>Immediate Response<br><br></strong>Address operational disruptions, flight delays, gate changes, and other unexpected events promptly and effectively.<br><br>Make swift decisions to minimize passenger inconvenience and maintain operational efficiency.<br><br><strong>Team Supervision<br><br></strong>Supervise and guide a team of operational staff and customer service agents to ensure tasks are executed efficiently.<br><br>Provide training, coaching, and support to maintain a high level of service quality.<br><br><strong>Communication<br><br></strong>Maintain clear and effective communication with flight crews, ground teams, air traffic control, and other relevant stakeholders.<br><br>Ensure accurate information is relayed promptly to all parties involved in flight operations.<br><br><strong>Documentation And Reporting<br><br></strong>Maintain accurate records of flight operations, incidents, passenger services, and regulatory compliance.<br><br>Prepare and submit timely reports to higher management as required.<br><br><strong>Emergency Response<br><br></strong>Participate in emergency response procedures, managing crises, diversions, and other unforeseen operational events.<br><br>Work collaboratively to implement contingency plans and ensure passenger and crew safety.<br><br><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong>Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Aeronautics, or a related field.<br><br>Relevant experience in aviation, airport operations, or airline management.<br><br>Strong knowledge of aviation safety regulations, security protocols, and operational procedures.<br><br>Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.<br><br>Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in dynamic operational environments.<br><br>Proficiency in using airport software, communication tools, and office applications.<br><br>Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.<br><br>Strong attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring a positive passenger experience.<br><br>If you are a proactive and results-oriented professional with a passion for aviation and operational efficiency, we invite you to apply for the position of Duty Officer.
