About the position

As an Assistant Merchant, you will support the omni-channel experience by assisting with the development of merchandising strategies and marketing initiatives. You’ll assist Merchants and Senior Merchants in bringing inspirational assortments and strategies to life with your strong organizational, communication, creative and analytical skills. Contribute to the development and implementation of omnichannel merchandising and promotional strategies Interpret data and analytics for merchants and brand partners, identifies trends and speaks to sales metrics using data Participate in the annual planning process for sales, margins, and inventory. Develop a sense of financial acumen and familiarize yourself with financial tools In accordance with Buyer instructions, maintains quality and accurate side-by-sides for each individual brand. Input promotions and featured SKUs for printing and in-store display Assist lead marketing merchants with developing marketing themes. Turn-In Mag submission, advertising samples and vendor art. Ensure the accuracy of mag pages/digital assets by submitting vendor proofs to brands Supports omni product assortment, inclusive of brand planograms and promotional locations by partnering with merchants on secondary candidation and priority ranks while maintaining accurate candidating files Verifies all in-store signage and digital assets for accuracy and communicates with brands about secondary space, deliverables, and funding Coordinates shelf strip creation with external vendors and internal partners to ensure accuracy and deadlines are met. Assists team members with the proofing of shelf strips

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelors' degree in retail merchandising or relevant field preferred
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in merchandising, planning or inventory
  • Organization: ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, set goals, and develop best practices for achieving those goals
  • Attention to detail: ability to focus on all areas of a task/project and conduct checks/balances for accuracy
