Key Responsibilities: 1)Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation and cooking of all menu items in your section (e.g., meat, seafood, vegetables, pastries). Ensure all food is prepared according to standard recipes and quality guidelines. Maintain consistency in food quality and presentation. Kitchen Operations: 2)Assist the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in managing kitchen operations. Ensure that food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service deadlines. Monitor food stock levels and notify superiors of any shortages. Help maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the workstations and kitchen area. Team Support: 3)Assist junior kitchen staff with training and guidance. Collaborate with other kitchen sections and staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers to ensure efficient workflow. Hygiene & Safety: 4)Follow all hygiene and safety regulations in the kitchen. Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety practices. Ensure that work areas and equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized after each use. Inventory & Cost Control: 5)Assist with inventory management and proper storage of food items. Monitor portion sizes and reduce food waste. Follow stock rotation procedures (FIFO) to ensure freshness of products. Menu Development: Participate in the development and testing of new recipes under the direction of senior chefs. Offer creative input for improving existing menu items and presentation. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all kitchen equipment is used correctly and report any defects or maintenance needs. Qualifications and Skills: Experience: experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume restaurant Education: Culinary diploma/certificate or relevant professional qualifications. **Skills**:Strong cooking skills with knowledge of various techniques and cuisines. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and presentation.
