About the position The Digital Monitor Tech (ESitter) position at Ochsner Health System involves working collaboratively with licensed nurses and Patient Care Technicians to ensure patient safety and provide basic patient care. This role requires constant observation of patients, effective communication with healthcare teams, and the ability to respond to changes in patient behavior or status. The position is full-time and primarily night shifts, focusing on maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients. Responsibilities • Maintain patient safety through constant observation and communication with nursing personnel. • Assist with the plan of care as delegated by the staff nurse/department lead. • Provide basic patient care based on physical, psycho/social, and safety criteria appropriate to the patient population. • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team (MDT). • Adapt behavior and communication style to meet the needs of specific patient populations. • Maintain a clean and safe environment in the patient care area. • Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards of conduct. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required. • No prior experience needed, but preferred experience in a psychiatric environment. • Computer skills for data entry and information retrieval required. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
