The following position is to join our RTX Corporate team: KEY DESCRIPTION As RTX continues to evolve and AI accelerates automation across the aerospace and defense sector, strengthening and scaling our Organizational Design capabilities is a critical investment in ensuring transformation efforts realize their potential, as well as helping RTX maintain its long-term execution agility. The Director of Organizational Design will set the Org Design (OD) strategy for the enterprise, including defining what OD excellence looks like at RTX and creating clear, scalable practices for enterprise-wide application. Under their strategic leadership, these efforts will help the HR function develop and scale best-in-class OD capabilities, in support of our evolving business. In addition, this role will serve as a strategic thought partner to senior business leaders and HR Partners, advising on complex, transformational OD needs across our global enterprise. This role will report to the Executive Director of Culture, Org Effectiveness and Change and will collaborate closely with RTX Senior Leaders, the RTX HR Leadership Team and key functional stakeholders to drive improvements in how we optimize our teams and organizations as we continue to transform and elevate our business. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide enterprise leadership through the design and development of a new, structured approach to RTX Org Design. This work includes defining and operationalizing an RTX OD governance model, defining RTX OD standards, services, service delivery models, key processes, and consistent measurement approaches. Once defined, this leader will be responsible for driving continued maturity across the model, ensuring the resources and support reflect evolving best practices and internal customer needs. • Develop and execute the RTX HR OD capability-building strategy, including the deployment of a comprehensive training program. • Enable strategic investments with approved external vendors, when necessary. Counsel internal customers on recommended vendors to engage, and ensure vendor engagements align to RTX OD standards. • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and design RTX OD design criteria, aligned to our business’ operating model, industry standards and go-to-market requirements. • Serve as a strategic advisor and internal consultant to the RTX HR Leadership Team, senior HR and business leaders and relevant external vendors on org design efforts worldwide (including organizational assessments and diagnostics, structure redesigns, operating model shifts, work movement, business process redesign efforts, etc.) • Act as a thought leader on best practices in org design, effectiveness and transformation, ensuring RTX stays ahead of evolving needs. KEY QUALIFICATIONS Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in organizational development, Business, Human Resources, Psychology, or related field (Master’s Preferred). • Deep org design subject matter expertise - developed through both academic endeavors and a successful track record of practical application. • Several years of progressive experience in organizational design, transformation, HR strategy, or related disciplines. • Ability to communicate with senior executives on a regular basis. Proven track-record of navigating large global companies (ideally, Fortune 500 Companies). • Proven experience leading enterprise-level org design and effectiveness initiatives in a complex, highly matrixed, global organization (consulting experience applies). Strong facilitation and consulting skills, with the ability to influence and build trust across senior levels of the organization. • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into structure, process, and people implications. • Proficiency in leveraging data and organizational diagnostics to drive insights and recommendations. • Experience working within or in partnership with HR Communities of Expertise and HR Business Partners. Preferred Qualifications • Experience leading an OD team or center of excellence for a multinational organization. • Org Design, coaching and/or change management certifications. The salary range for this role is 186,200 USD - 353,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
