The Financial Analyst - Decision Support will produce financial reports and analyses to monitor the hospital's financial performance, supporting various projects and ongoing operations related to decision support systems. Responsibilities Develop an in-depth understanding of the internal costing system (EPSi) and effectively run accurate EPSi reports; understand the relationship between the various EPSi fields and the potential restrictions when resolving crucial business decisions from stakeholders Support day-to-day operations related to the ongoing maintenance and processing of the EPSi Decision Support System; arenaflex accounting and contract modeling Support new and ongoing projects relating to the identification of contract modeling, arenaflex saving opportunities, physician resource utilization analyses, quality/arenaflex analysis, and dashboard creation/review Support of the Hospitals Value Based Management projects, financial dashboards, various benchmarking activities and other projects as needed Package and summarize analytical findings with clear understanding of results and thoughtful recommendations Work with large complex data sets accurately Proactively communicate to management any arising issues or barriers to meet timelines/deliverables Identify opportunities for continuous improvement (e.g. improving data integrity, process flow) Demonstrate initiative for taking on new tasks or responsibilities. Exhibit creative thinking by suggesting alternative and innovative solutions to problems encountered Monitor and reconcile data from various sources including general ledger, patient billing, and operational systems Participate in special projects, audits, and performance improvement initiatives Skills Bachelor Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field 1-3 years relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Superior communication skills, both written and verbal Strong customer service and problem solving skill sets Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Mathematics, or Management Information Systems A minimum of two to three (2-3) years of experience in not-for-profit, healthcare or accounting Action-oriented, with experience managing aggressive deadlines and strength across a broad range of technical skills Strong foundation in financial analysis and/or accounting Must have a general understanding of the healthcare industry Proficient in arenaflex Office Excel and/or SQL High-level of proficiency in Tableau, Excel, SQL, and Decision Support reporting programs Experience working with a decision support/arenaflex accounting system Experience in data transformation/manipulation Basic understanding of database relationships and structures Experience in Business Intelligence/visualization tools (i.e. Tableau, Power BI) Benefits Comprehensive benefits and wellness package Financial security benefits Generous time-off program Employee resources groups for peer support Holistic employee wellness program Company Overview NYU Langone Health is a nonprofit organization that provides a center of excellence in healthcare, research, and medical education.
