Functional Skills Lead

Salary: £180 - £200 per day

Contract: Permanent, 42 weeks per year (Term Time + 3 weeks)

Hours: 35 hours per week

Location: Hounslow

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Functional Skills Lead to oversee English, Maths and Digital Skills provision across the organisation.

This is a leadership role with a teaching element, responsible for ensuring high standards in assessment, curriculum delivery and examination processes, while embedding Functional Skills across vocational and foundation pathways.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage Functional Skills provision (Entry Level 1-Level 2), ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.

Oversee assessments, diagnostics, learner progress tracking and target setting.

Develop schemes of work and individual learner plans, embedding Functional Skills across the wider curriculum.

Manage exam processes, awarding body compliance and accurate assessment, including Speaking, Listening and Communication.

Support and quality assure tutors through observations and coaching, while maintaining safeguarding, health and safety and collaborative working practices.Candidate Requirements

Qualified teacher or recognised teaching qualification.

Experience delivering Functional Skills English and Maths (Entry Level-Level 2).

Experience working with young people with SEN or learning disabilities.

Strong understanding of assessment, diagnostics, and exam processes.

Excellent organisational and communication skills, with experience leading or mentoring staff.What We Offer
