Summary: The GIS Technician/Specialist I is responsible for providing entry level GIS/data cleanup services for capital and damage prevention projects. The candidate shall be able to collaborate with project supervisors and other project team members. Responsible for updating clients GIS system of record, assisting different team members in the execution of this work depending on the stage of the projects.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: These are functions a qualified incumbent or applicant should be able to perform with or without reasonable training and development.• Digitizes features and updates attribute information in client GIS environment.• Updates tracking database as work is performed.• Ensures process documentation, processes and workflows are being maintained.• Collaborates with other team members to support the successful performance of their roles.• Interface with internal departments to resolve issues.Education and/or Experience:• An Associate Degree (or equivalent experience) in Geography, GIS, Information Systems, or related field.• Entry level 1-2 years of experience• This position is at an entry level and training will be provided.• Basic knowledge of GIS software and concepts.Preferred Soft Skills:• Ability to identify problems and work creatively in a team environment to resolve them.• Organizational and analytical skills with acute attention to detail.• Ability to multi-task on multiple projects and respond in a flexible manner.• Effective communication, organizational and time management skills.• Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of internal resources.Additional Value Skills:• Experience with editing geographic databases.• Experience working both independently and in team-oriented, collaborative environments.• Ability to read construction drawings and interpret work performed by field crews.• Working knowledge of PHMSA Regulation CFR §192 and §195 sections as applied to onshore natural gas pipeline networks.• Prior experience in the oil and gas pipeline industry.• Knowledge of ArcGIS Pro.• Computer skills, proficiency with Windows and arenaflex Office Suite.• Ability to access cadastral data (i.e. parcel and Right of Way information) through multiple sources including County Assessor websites.• Analysis of historical satellite imagery.Who is WSB:WSB is a design and consulting firm specializing in Transportation, Community Planning, Environmental, Energy, Municipal, and Construction services.
