Role Description We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to serve in a Development Manager–style role, overseeing design-build project teams from concept through construction. This position bridges engineering, development, and construction—ideal for a civil engineer who enjoys leadership, coordination, and big-picture project delivery. • Lead and manage design-build project teams, including civil engineers, architects, consultants, and contractors • Oversee site development design (grading, drainage, utilities, roadway, and infrastructure) • Coordinate project planning from entitlement and permitting through construction completion • Serve as owner's representative and internal development lead on assigned projects • Review and guide design documents to ensure constructability, arenaflex efficiency, and code compliance • Manage schedules, budgets, and risk throughout the project lifecycle • Coordinate with municipalities, regulatory agencies, and utility providers • Support value engineering efforts and resolve design or construction challenges • Ensure alignment between design intent and field execution Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required) • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (or ability to obtain) • 5+ years of experience in civil engineering, land development, or design-build construction • Strong understanding of site development, infrastructure, and permitting processes • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams • Excellent communication, organization, and decision-making skills • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment • Experience working with developers, contractors, and public agencies Benefits • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance • Bonus opportunities Company Description At MEC General Contractors, we're proud to be a third-generation, family-owned company with a legacy built on trust, innovation, and dedication for over 50 years.
