Kennel Attendant (PART-TIME)

Do you love animals and want to be part of a compassionate, dedicated veterinary team? Fort Payne Animal Hospital is seeking a reliable and caring Kennel Attendant to help provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our patients. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and wants to grow in the veterinary field.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide daily care, feeding, and exercise for hospitalized and boarding pets
  • Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and common areas to maintain a sanitary environment
  • Monitor pets for changes in appetite, behavior, or health and alert the medical team
  • Assist with patient restraint and handling as needed
  • Wash and organize bedding, dishes, and supplies
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning and care supplies
  • Support the veterinary team with basic care and housekeeping tasks throughout the hospital

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with animals is preferred but not required
  • Comfortable handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety
  • Dependable, hard-working, and able to follow directions
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting pay: $11/hour, possibly higher depending on experience.

Hours of Operation & Scheduling

  • Our hospital is open Monday - Friday from 7am - 6pm
  • This part-time position typically includes 6-hour shifts/5 days a week with rotating weekend morning/evening micro shifts, depending on the amount of boarders and chores
