We’re searching for a visionary Kids & Accessories Designer with a sharp trend eye, elevated design aesthetic, and the agility to create across multiple product categories—specifically Kids Apparel and Accessories. This role is not just about designing product—it’s about owning the process from concept to delivery across this fast-paced, fashion-focused new vertical, ensuring a fun, youthful, and sophisticated aesthetic while prioritizing comfort. What You'll Do • Translate trend, fabric, and cultural insights into on-brand, commercially successful designs for kids apparel and accessories. • Concept and design across Kids Apparel (e.g., hoodies, loungewear, easy basics) and Accessories (e.g., hats, small bags, playful carry items). • Prioritize fit apparel design for children, ensuring comfort, movement, and age-appropriate styling. • Ensure all designs adhere to strict children's product compliance and safety regulations. • Own vendor communication for all design-related matters, ensuring clarity on product intent, materials, and execution, especially for new factories. • Collaborate closely with product development, sourcing, and marketing to move from idea to launch—fast. • Design Execution: Oversee the entire design process from initial concept to final product development, including material innovation, function, and construction. • Create tech packs with detailed specs, construction methods, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) for production accuracy across soft goods and hard accessories. • Color merchandising—develop seasonal color palettes and apply them strategically across all kids and accessory categories. • Create graphics and patterns that align with Comfrt’s brand identity and seasonal stories. • Create and manage seasonal visual line plans to guide product flow, merchandising strategy, and assortment balance. • Understand and work within product arenaflex targets while maintaining design integrity and quality standards. • Track and align designs with production timelines, ensuring on-time delivery in a fast-paced environment. • Participate in prototyping and sampling to ensure accurate product function and durability that meets Comfrt’s standards for the casual sportswear environment. • Maintain Comfrt’s design DNA while pushing boundaries and innovating for the future. Skills and Qualifications: • Creative and Artistic Ability: A strong eye for design, color, form, and detail, with a focus on a fun, youthful, and sophisticated aesthetic. • Design & Trend Acumen: Exceptional ability to analyze market trends and apply them effectively within the brand's aesthetic and strategic lens; highly dialed into design and trend, ahead of the curve, and customer obsessed. • Technical Skills: Deep knowledge in fabric, fit apparel design, and soft goods construction specific to children's wear. Proficiency in pattern creation and material specifications for durability and performance. • Kids Compliance Expertise: Must have strong knowledge of mandatory compliance standards, testing protocols, and safety regulations for children's products. • Computer-Aided Design (CAD): Proficiency in design software like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and ideally 3D design tools (e.g., CLO3D, Rhino) for product visualization and prototyping • Knowledge of Trends: Understanding of current and emerging trends in kids fashion, materials, and manufacturing processes within a casual sportswear context. • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to effectively communicate design ideas and collaborate with cross-functional teams and international vendors. • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot design challenges and find creative solutions across diverse product types. • Business Acumen: Understanding of retail, market trends, and business operations within the kids apparel and accessories spaces. • Organizational and Time Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple, complex projects and meet aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Education: A bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Textile Design, Fashion Design, or a related field is typically required. You Are: • 10+ years in product design, specifically with experience in Kids Apparel and Accessories, with a portfolio showing exceptional taste and commercial success within a casual sportswear brand. • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and ideally 3D design tools. • Highly knowledgeable in textiles, hardware, construction, and performance materials for kids' applications. • Experienced in vendor communication and navigating production realities for complex goods. • Entrepreneurial, collaborative, and solutions-focused with a positive, can-do attitude. • Strong understanding of product costing and timelines. • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, able to pivot quickly and work long hours when launches demand it.
