About the Role

Are you hardworking, organized, and passionate about keeping a kitchen running smoothly? Nyonya Club is looking for a dedicated Kitchen Assistant & Steward to join our team. You will be the backbone of our kitchen, ensuring that our space remains spotless and our chefs are well-supported to deliver authentic Nyonya comfort food to our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Kitchen Support: Assist the kitchen crew with basic ingredient preparation (chopping, peeling, and portioning) and plating food items with care.
  • Cleanliness & Hygiene: Maintain high standards of sanitation by washing dishes, cutlery, and kitchenware promptly.
  • Area Maintenance: Regularly sanitize all food preparation surfaces, equipment, and storage areas to ensure a safe cooking environment.
  • Inventory & Logistics: Assist in unloading deliveries and ensuring all ingredients and supplies are organized and stored correctly (FIFO).
  • Operational Support: Help maintain the organization of the kitchen equipment and perform general tasks as requested by the Supervisor or Manager.

Requirements

  • The Basics: Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and a willingness to handle food prep tasks.
  • Safety First: Ability to strictly follow food hygiene (HACCP) and safety protocols.
  • Team Player: Excellent listening skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attitude: A positive, "can-do" attitude with a high level of responsibility regarding cleanliness.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift restaurant supplies/deliveries.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen or as a dishwasher/steward is preferred, but we are happy to train those with a great attitude!

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM2,100.00 per month
