Job Summary: The Lead QAE is responsible for guiding the QAE team in the planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality Nextech solutions. This role evaluates project scope and feasibility from a testing perspective, ensures timely delivery of QAE milestones, and facilitates effective communication across stakeholders. The Lead QAE collaborates closely with QAE Manager, Development, Product, DevOps, and Support to ensure robust quality standards across Nextech products. All responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with EEO laws, HIPAA, ERISA, and other relevant regulations. Essential Functions In addition to working in accordance with appropriate conduct and behavioral standards, specific responsibilities of this role include: Lead QAE team execution and planning; manage shifting priorities and adjust as needed. Assess team capabilities and work with the QAE Manager to customize mentorship and encourage professional development. Facilitate career growth by providing mentoring and performance feedback together with the QAE Manager. Collaborate with the QAE Manager to ensure the team is properly resourced for delivery. Serve as the primary QAE contributor and contact for assigned projects. Guide test strategy, planning, and review decisions; uphold QAE excellence within the tech stack. Actively participate in Sev-1 and Sev-2 incident war rooms for their product areas, lead root cause analysis (RCA) using the 5 Whys method, take ownership of issue analysis, and prioritize solutions to minimize escaped defects within their respective product domains. Translate business and customer needs into actionable, testable requirements. Effectively advocate for automation framework extensions that will lead to more efficiency in the quality management process Effectively troubleshoot and surface issues to SETs regarding the automation scripts as part of feature development and regression testing cycles Work with Product, Engineering, UI/UX and Delivery teams to understand customer problems, provide feasible technical solutions and create delivery plans. Drive innovation in QAE processes; foster experimentation and creativity while providing constructive feedback. Own test quality; implement and enforce QAE practices and standards. Identify and prioritize QAE technical debt and continuous improvement opportunities. Maintain awareness of how QAE output impacts broader business goals; articulate this to the team. Ensure strong collaboration within the QAE team and across functional areas. Represent QAE in cross-functional meetings; communicate progress, blockers, and expectations effectively. Demonstrate excellence in both written and verbal communication. Promote ongoing learning and keep current with new QAE technologies and patterns. Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned based on business need. Minimum Requirements Typically, 7+ years industry experience in software quality assurance Coaching/team guidance experience Experience with Test Case Management software, Zephyr Scale Experience working with JIRA Experience with automation using Playwright Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s or equivalent college degree Solid understanding of HIPAA privacy laws Experience working with a Software as a Service (SaaS) development team Work Environment/Physical Demands 100% Remote role.
