Come Take Flight at KSU!Location(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.Department InformationDEPARTMENT SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Communicate with internal and external partners to schedule traveling exhibitions and trunks along with programming for school visits, field trips, and virtual programs along with registration for special events like summer camps and home school programs.• Maintain master museum calendar for all the initiatives above.• Support opening and/or closing of the museum.DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES*:• Knowledge of Airtable, arenaflex Teams and SharePointJob SummaryResponsible for archival or museum exhibits, programs, outreach, and processes. Supports archival or museum programs and initiatives. Assists in implementing and administering the museum's on-site and off-site education and outreach programs.This position is considered limited-term staff since it utilizes contingent funding which is currently secured through June 30, 2028. Employment thereafter will be conditional based on continued availability of funding.ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Engages in public outreach to K-12 public and private schools, homeschool organizations, campus community, and community. May involve travel to and from outreach locations with the responsibility of delivery, set-up and breakdown of travel exhibits.2. Responsible for researching and writing curriculum related to outreach and developing evaluation techniques to assess program effectiveness3. Provides input to staff in development and execution of promotional plans related to outreach4. Assists with special projects and patrons with research and reference information5. Conducts evaluations of outreach programs6. Provides research support for exhibits and outreach programs7. Assists in managing field trips, in-school programs, homeschool days for K-12 audiences, and dialogue-based programs offered to university and adult audiences8. Provides administrative support to members of The Museum of History and Holocaust Education (MHHE)9. Assists with collection management and may assist the communications team as needed.10. Assists with instruction sessions, outreach events and programs which may be virtual or in-person.Required QualificationsEducational RequirementsBachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related fieldOther Required QualificationsCurrent, valid and unrestricted Georgia driver's licenseRequired ExperienceOne (1) year of experience in a related fieldPreferred QualificationsPreferred Educational QualificationsAdvanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field preferredPreferred ExperiencePrevious experience in museums, archives or similar historical preservation field preferredProposed SalaryThe salary for this position starts at $44,000 annually.
