Job Summary

Duties

  • Provide personal care assistance including helping residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Monitor residents’ health by checking vital signs and observing for any changes or concerns
  • Assist with medication administration following proper protocols and documentation procedures using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Ensure a safe environment by conducting regular safety checks, responding promptly to emergencies, and utilizing equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
  • Support residents with mobility needs, including transferring using assistive devices and managing equipment like wheelchairs or walkers
  • Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas through light cleaning duties to promote hygiene and comfort
  • Document all care activities accurately in EMR systems and communicate any significant observations to daytime staff or healthcare professionals

Experience

  • Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or long-term care environments preferred however not required as in the job training is available.
  • Hands-on experience assisting with ADLs and providing personal care for seniors or individuals with disabilities
  • Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care strategies, and behavior management techniques
  • Familiarity with vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response procedures such as first aid
  • Experience working with electronic medical record (EMR) systems for documentation is highly desirable
  • Previous roles involving home & community care or group home settings are advantageous
  • Valid driver’s license for driving residents or running errands is a plus
