Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. The Amazon Leo team is looking for a motivated, customer-focused individual who wants to join our team as an Operations Manager. This role will be responsible for managing warehouse associates in functional areas such as material receipt, picking, kitting, or material delivery. This is a hands-on position where your daily activities will range from labor planning to strategic projects to new system development to supporting the customers that depend on our services.

Candidates must be flexible to shift assignments.

Key job responsibilities
  • Hire, support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce, promoting a culture of inclusion, innovation and performance.
  • Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises.
  • Oversee daily execution of warehouse operations to deliver daily requirements with a focus on safety and quality.
  • Gather, trend and report process metrics/KPIs to promote improvement initiatives.
  • Drive efficiency and quality through process-focused approaches, process improvement initiatives and root cause / corrective action exercises.
  • Manage team goals and critical metrics to ensure business success. Drive accountability with the team.
  • Lead and implement critical business initiatives across the team.
  • Work effectively across functions with matters involving Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, etc.
  • Conduct employee reviews, hiring, and disciplinary functions for the reporting team.
  • Contribute to Operations project teams leading new product introduction and other manufacturing initiatives.
  • Work effectively with functions such as Safety, Logistics, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, etc.

You are comfortable with ambiguity and will set the vision for our daily operations, ensuring the team consistently executes to meet customer needs. You drive improvements in productivity and efficiency through data-driven decisions and analytical problem-solving. You drive labor forecasting and ensure we staff according to business needs. You recognize the value of cross-training and use this as a tool to provide labor flexibility depending on daily workload in each area.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree, or 2+ years of Amazon (Blue Badge/FTE) experience
  • 1+ years of direct management experience for employees and their performance
  • 1+ years of ERP experience, especially in SAP
  • Flexibility in shift assignments, as Amazon Leo operates 24/7

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • APICS certified
  • Forklift certified
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective coaching and mentoring skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
