As we expand our data and reporting delivery capabilities, we are seeking a Power BI Consultant to support client engagements focused on scalable reporting, business intelligence delivery, and analytics enablement. Role Overview BTCS Group is seeking a hands-on, delivery-focused Power BI Consultant to support clients in building scalable reporting environments, production-ready dashboards, and reliable business intelligence solutions. This role is ideal for a consultant who thrives on transforming prepared data into clear, actionable insights, building well-modeled Power BI environments, and supporting multiple client projects with high execution quality. The right consultant is confident, organized, and comfortable operating across evolving data environments while delivering Power BI solutions that support operational, financial, and executive decision-making. Key Responsibilities 1. Power BI Architecture & Environment Setup – 30% Design and maintain scalable Power BI workspace structures, datasets, and deployment practices. Build optimized semantic models, relationships, and calculations using Power BI and DAX. Establish best practices for performance, refresh strategies, and dataset reuse. Support Power BI Service administration including access, security, and environment management. 2. Dashboard Development & Reporting Delivery – 30% Build, QA, and deploy Power BI dashboards and reports including: Executive and operational dashboards Financial and performance reporting Client-facing and internal analytics solutions Translate defined reporting needs into intuitive, decision-supporting visuals. Ensure data accuracy, usability, and performance across all published assets. 3. Data Modeling, Integration & Optimization – 25% Connect Power BI to multiple data sources (e.g., SQL databases, cloud platforms, APIs, files). Collaborate with internal data and technical partners managing upstream pipelines. Apply transformation logic, data shaping, and modeling best practices. Implement row-level security, validation rules, and refresh monitoring. Troubleshoot dataset issues, refresh failures, and performance bottlenecks. 4. Documentation, Enablement & Delivery Support – 15% Produce clear technical documentation including model explanations, data dictionaries, and report guides. Support light discovery, requirements clarification, and handoff sessions. Document assumptions, risks, and enhancement opportunities. Create artifacts that allow solutions to scale beyond the consultant’s involvement. Qualifications Required 4+ years hands-on experience developing solutions in Power BI Strong DAX, data modeling, and visualization design skills Experience managing Power BI Service environments Proven ability to deliver client-ready dashboards independently Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills Preferred Consulting or multi-client delivery experience Experience supporting operational, construction, manufacturing, or services data SQL and cloud data platform experience (Azure, Fabric, Snowflake, etc.) Comfort supporting backend reporting environments in addition to front-end dashboards Deliverables & Expectations Production-ready Power BI dashboards and datasets Well-structured Power BI environments aligned to project needs Reliable refresh processes and validated reporting logic Clear documentation supporting sustainability and handoff Consistent communication with BTCS Group PMs and client stakeholders Estimated Engagement Project-based, contract structure 10–15 hours/week depending on active client load Combination of short-term builds and longer engagements Opportunity for recurring work as bench demand increases Rate: $60–$80/hr depending on experience and delivery ownership.
