<p>ReliefWeb is seeking a Project Driver for the European Committee for Agricultural Training in Mombasa, Kenya. The role involves supporting office and field staff, maintaining project vehicles, ensuring safety equipment is present, and managing vehicle records. CEFA’s medium- and long-term interventions in agricultural, environmental and Human Rights sector are focused on the sustainable development of the communities, achieved by involving local counterparts and by promoting the active participation of the beneficiaries.<br><br>Project Summary<br><br>CEFA coordinates the implementation of the project Kujenga Amani. Building Peace on the Swahili Coast, co-funded by the European Union, and taking place in the coastal and bordering areas of Kenya, Tanzania, and Mozambique. In Kenya, the implementation areas are Kwale and Mombasa Counties. The general objective of the action is to empower and mobilize young women and men in the coastal area of Kenya, Mozambique, and Tanzania as lead actors in peacebuilding and dialogue processes. The specific objectives are a) to strengthen Swahili coast communities’ resilience to prevent and counter violence and conflict through the dissemination of positive narratives and opportunities for dialogue and exchange, and b) to foster leadership, agency and socio-political inclusion of young men and women in the Swahili coast regions, as agents for change in the promotion of peacebuilding processes and prevention of identity-based violence.<br><br>General Objectives And Responsibilities<br><br>Under the supervision of the Project Manager and in close collaboration with the Procurement and Logistics Officer the project driver will:<br>• Provide support to office and field staffs whenever necessary towards accomplishment of organization goals / objectives<br>• Ensure that the vehicle assigned is driven at a reasonable speed and well equipped with required tools like first Aid boxes, Jack, tool box, fire extinguisher, hazards etc.<br>• S)he ensures the maintenance and the repairs of vehicles are checked for Oil level, Water level, tire pressure every morning before they are driven<br>• S)he ensures that the organization vehicle are serviced only at recognized garages<br>• S)he ensures the correctness and the supervision of the required reports (logbooks, statistic about performed km, costs of maintenance, cost per km, etc.)<br>• (S)he supervises the maintenance and / or repair services provided to the project items (i.e. maintenance of equipment, vehicles etc.).<br>• (S)he ensures that the regulations governing the use of vehicles are respected.<br>• (S)he ensures records relating to vehicles are up to date i.e. insurance, maintenance, vehicles logbook, spare wheels, first aid kit, etc.<br>• (S)he ensures the projects vehicles are always adequately fueled<br>• (S)he ensures that the project vehicle is well maintained and organizes for the vehicle service whenever the maintenance falls due.<br>• (S)he ensures that the vehicle logbook is accurately and duly filled<br>• (S)he drives project staff to and from official meetings/ field visits/ to any other approved destination.<br>• (S)he ensures that the keys of the car are placed in the office and also maintains an updated inventory of the keys and spare keys.<br>• (S)he produces and keeps records of documentation relevant to transport and delivery (packing list, waybills, delivery notes, goods receiving notes, customs notes)<br>• (S)he dispatches and collect documents from the field<br>• The project vehicles are driven with cautious for the safety of workers.<br>• To make sure that all project vehicles have valid documents as required by the law<br>• Work closely with line manager to make sure that vehicles are available to field staff<br>• To make sure that the project vehicles are always clean, well serviced, and has valid insurance<br>• Ensure that the traffic rules and regulations are followed when driving/parking the project vehicle.<br>• Timely communicates to the Project manager and the PLO whenever there are any vehicle abnormalities.<br><br>Any other duty that may be assigned as need arises which does not conflict with main function.<br><br>Mandatory Requirements<br><br>Qualifications, Skills and Experience<br>• MUST at least have a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (C plain and above)<br>• Knowledge of vehicle mechanics/maintenance is an added advantage.<br>• Fluent in English and Kiswahili<br>• A clean and Valid driving Licence of more than 5 years<br>• A current Certificate of good Conduct<br>• Three year’s relevant experience<br>• Well conversant with Mombasa and Kwale areas and their environments<br>• Flexible to work over the weekends or odd hours<br>• Ability to be alert on safety measures and security<br><br>Skills<br>• Integrity and honesty in performing the daily assigned responsibilities.<br>• Strong sense of personal initiative and problem-solving skills;<br>• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a team.<br>• Excellent organizational skills are a must.<br>• Self-motivation and the ability to identify and complete needed tasks without direct supervision.<br>• Punctual, honest and Reliable<br>• Client oriented internally and externally.<br>• Friendly and tidy<br><br>How to apply<br><br>Interested and qualified persons, with the required experience are invited to submit their application to <a href="mailto:vacancies@cefakenya.com">vacancies@cefakenya.com</a>, by the 16/06/2025.<br><br>Email Subject: Project Driver -
