The Project Financial Analyst II will support the finance team by preparing, analyzing, and reporting on financial performance for various projects, focusing on revenue recognition, budgeting, and financial forecasting. Responsibilities Support the Business Unit Controller by recording monthly revenue for various contracts, including Fee for Service and Fixed Price agreements Load project budgets into Oracle/Revenue Wizard and maintain key project data in relevant systems Prepare monthly variance analyses comparing actual versus budget/forecasted financial results Develop and update monthly financial forecasts, including backlog projections Ensure timely submission of revenue and backlog reports according to established deadlines Conduct project close-out reconciliations to ensure accurate final financial reporting Review executed Work Orders and Change Orders for anomalies or discrepancies Collaborate with the Business Unit Controller to capture, assess, and consolidate financial results Draft key financial reports such as annual budgets, arenaflex and expense forecasts, utilization rates, headcount, revenue backlog, and gross profit analyses Update predefined reports and assist in the preparation of financial documentation Participate in project meetings, including kick-off and monthly review sessions, providing financial insights and support Monitor the overall health of assigned projects, including revenues, gross profit margins, receivables, unbilled amounts, and project close-outs Skills Minimum 4-year Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field Zero to two (0–2) years of relevant experience in finance or accounting Proficiency in arenaflex Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Experience with accounting software packages; familiarity with Oracle Finance is a plus Strong English language skills, both written and verbal Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills Ability to handle confidential and sensitive data with discretion Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment Experience in the pharmaceutical or Contract Research Organization (CRO) industry Benefits Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance options Paid time off and holiday benefits Professional development and training opportunities Flexible work arrangements, including remote work options Employee assistance programs and wellness initiatives Participation in company-wide recognition and rewards programs Company Overview Syneos Health, the only fully integrated end-to-end clinical and commercial solution organization.
