The Manager, Benefits Strategy & Global Projects is responsible for designing and overseeing health and welfare benefit strategies, ensuring compliance and cost-effectiveness while enhancing the associate experience through collaboration and wellbeing initiatives.


Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage a multi‑year strategy for health and welfare benefit programs (medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, life, disability, voluntary benefits, wellness, and time away), balancing opportunity, associate experience, and cost management
  • Lead program updates through strong change management and business case development in partnership with People Analytics, Legal, Finance, and other key internal partners
  • Ensure programs remain competitive, cost‑effective, and compliant with federal/state regulations (ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA)
  • Provide comprehensive stewardship of benefit programs, including:
  • Annual performance assessments and analytics with key vendors
  • Oversight of provider delivery, service levels, contractual adherence, and performance
  • Establishing cycles for vendor review and contract changes
  • Serving as the first point of escalation for vendor issues
  • Guide and improve absence management programs, including Flexible Time Off, PTO, Vacation, and Paid Sick Leave across diverse associate groups
  • Drive cost‑containment and data‑driven decision‑making, by:
  • Monitoring cost trends using market benchmarks and associate engagement data
  • Supporting feasibility studies and internal/external analytic efforts
  • Owning Danaher’s U.S. Benefits Data Warehouse to track plan performance, insights, and opportunities
  • Lead M&A integration efforts, ensuring smooth transitions of acquisitions and divestitures into/out of Danaher’s benefit programs
  • Coach and develop benefits team members across Corporate, Platform, and OpCo levels to build best‑in‑class capability and collaboration
  • Identify opportunities to expand and harmonize benefits across global regions, including:
  • Identifying gaps, harmonizing offerings, consolidating vendors, and mitigating compliance risks
  • Championing benefit plan engagement and ensuring consistent policy alignment
  • Manage and scale global wellbeing and support offerings, including:
  • The Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Targeted point solutions for health, welfare, and financial wellbeing
  • Participate in global benefits committees and contribute to shaping enterprise‑level benefit strategy
  • Develop associate engagement insights, including the creation of surveys and storytelling using tools such as OneModel and conjoint survey methods
  • Advance continuous improvement across all benefit programs, applying a continuous improvement mindset to strategy, design, and delivery
  • Support emerging benefit capabilities, including defining and governing Danaher’s AI benefits strategy and building content management capabilities for Comp & Benefits leaders
  • Lead initiatives to streamline benefit administration and communications, improving global benefit engagement and ease of access
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Inclusion & Belonging, Talent Acquisition, Internal Communications, DBS Office, Legal, Finance, and L&D to ensure alignment, effective solution delivery, and enterprise process excellence
  • Collaborate closely with HR Operations to drive process excellence through DBS tools, technology, and scalable operating mechanisms

Skills

  • 7+ years in benefit design/delivery, with emphasis on Health & Welfare Programs
  • Global project and program implementation experience across multiple associate groups preferred
  • BA/BS in related field preferred
  • Strong acumen and expertise in Project Management
  • Experience in professional services/consulting preferred
  • Ability to connect with multiple stakeholders – from C-Suite to associates in a clear and effective manner
  • Experience bringing projects from ideation, validation of root cause using analytics, financial impact, KPIs and other measurements of success for both implementation and ongoing sustainment
  • Experience developing/delivering technology solutions for benefit programs
  • Workday or Data Warehouse experience a plus
  • Experience with Short- and Long-Term Disability programs and outsourcing
  • Experience with due diligence and integration
  • Divestiture experience a plus
