About the position

As the Sales and Industry Director for Oil, Gas and Energy, you will analyze and build upon the sales strategy and execution to drive success within the market based on Microsoft's and customer/partner needs. You will drive the business within the segment, creating clarity on strategic direction with managers and teams. Your role will involve coaching ongoing customer value realization and satisfaction contributing to net-new revenue and business growth. You will apply industry and market expertise, proactively leading teams towards identifying solutions to drive new opportunities and strategies in alignment with customer needs. Additionally, you will lead the development and implementation of go-to-market strategies for maximizing revenue, consumption, and growth across solution areas. You will understand drivers of Digital & Artificial Intelligence transformation relevant to customers and partners across business units and advise customers to optimally leverage transformation solutions across solution areas. Fostering a culture of inclusion, learning, mentorship, coaching, customer-centricity, accountability, collaboration, and achievement of bold goals will be key aspects of your role. You will influence and work across segments, partners, and teams to drive growth and transformation, ensure alignment on short- and long-term account plans, define sales execution, and hold the team accountable for results beyond fiscal year boundaries. Building and maintaining a broad executive network inclusive of partners will also be part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Understand drivers of Digital & Artificial Intelligence (AI) transformation relevant to customers and partners across business units.
  • Consult with customers and internal/external partners to ensure successful value realization in delivery of solutions.
  • Drive and coach team to orchestrate across units and partners to accelerate and leverage innovative transformation opportunities.
  • Lead the development and implementation of go-to-market strategies for maximizing revenue, consumption, and growth.
  • Provide guidance on customer planning execution ensuring short- and long-term strategies are acted upon.
  • Facilitate the sharing of best practices, digital assets, and insights across Microsoft's segments.
  • Demonstrate industry-specific capabilities and expertise to represent Microsoft as a thought leader.
  • Influence and work across segments, partners, and teams to drive growth and transformation.
  • Build and maintain a broad executive network inclusive of partners.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, learning, mentorship, coaching, and accountability.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management, Economics, or related field AND 5+ years experience in sales, marketing/advertising, managing high performance sales and technical-sales teams, and/or leadership roles in multi-tiered large organizations.
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in the same fields AND 6+ years experience in similar roles.
  • 2+ years direct/formal, indirect/informal, and/or project team people management experience.
  • 8+ years experience in software sales or cloud solution sales.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management, Economics, or related field AND 6+ years experience in sales, marketing/advertising, managing high performance sales and technical-sales teams, and/or leadership roles.
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in the same fields AND 10+ years experience in similar roles.
  • 2+ years experience leading teams and/or managers in a Sales organization.
