Summary The Sectors & Clients Sr Manager plays a key leadership role driving strategic growth initiatives. This individual partners directly with sector and practice leadership, lawyers, and firmwide BD colleagues to identify, develop and pursue client growth opportunities, deepen client relationships, and proactively drive go-to-market strategies that result in measurable revenue growth. This individual will lead cross-functional collaboration, drive internal stakeholder engagement, and provide hands-on execution support for strategic pursuits, client targeting, campaigns, and key account growth plans. Location This position can sit in our New York, Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Raleigh, Seattle, Short Hills, Washington D.C., or Wilmington office and offers a hybrid work schedule. Responsibilities Develop and drive sector specific annual strategic plans focused on growth in partnership with sector leadership. Lead the identification and development of new business opportunities and manage pipeline. Drive cross-practice and cross-sector collaboration around emerging and key issues/trends for the sector. Identify and pursue client targeting initiatives. Develop thought leadership and content-driven marketing campaigns that showcase the firm’s deep understanding of industry trends and priorities. Partner with Pursuits and Pricing teams to shape strategic RFP responses and win themes. Build and maintain sector specific and client marketing materials, website content, and pitch materials. Use data and analytics tools to monitor growth, prioritize targets, and assess ROI. Utilize AI-driven BD tools to enhance efficiency and automation. Scope, plan and execute high-impact sector events, roadshows, webinars, and conference sponsorships, aligned with BD objectives. Collaborate with Communications team to amplify sector presence across media, directories, awards, and digital channels. Develop client-specific playbooks, strategic account plans, and dashboards for key targets of the sector and keep track of client revenue growth. Lead the onboarding and integration of lateral hires within the sector with a strong emphasis on client and relevant partner introductions focusing on cross-sell strategy. Supervise and mentor team members where applicable, fostering a high-performing, client-centric culture. Advise and manage the sector marketing budget, ensuring alignment with firm priorities and ROI. Proactively report on sector trends and insights gathered from key marketing efforts, pitches and initiatives. Leverage Market and Business Intelligence team for staying abreast of sector related opportunities and trends. Monitor industry news and developments to share relevant client and sector insights with key stakeholders. Desired Skills This multifaceted position requires a unique blend of legal knowledge, business acumen, and exceptional coaching and interpersonal skills. Solid understanding of the legal industry, including different practice areas and the overall legal process. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and internal stakeholders. Strong business acumen, with the ability to identify and pursue business development opportunities. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple client accounts simultaneously. Proficient in using customer relationship management (CRM) systems and other relevant software tools. Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines. Professional demeanor, maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive client information with discretion. Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree in Law, business or related field. Preferred Education Level JD Minimum Years of Experience 8 years’ Proven experience in client management or account management roles within a law firm or legal services environment. The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors including the candidate’s experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications.
