<strong>Job Description<br><br></strong>The Data Center Infrastructure Construction team at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is a dynamic group of professionals dedicated to delivering state-of-the-art data center facilities at scale and at pace. This team comprises experienced project managers, commissioning experts, and construction specialists who work collaboratively to ensure the successful execution of complex data center construction projects. They bring a wealth of expertise in project management, technical design, and on-site construction, ensuring that our data centers meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and sustainability. By staying ahead of industry trends and incorporating innovative technologies, this team plays a crucial role in supporting Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s data needs and driving our growth and success.<br><br><strong>Note: this opportunity will be based full time in Abilene, TX. Relocation assistance and short-term housing available for new hires. Non-relocation hires will require 50%+ travel (that is two weeks per month) or more.<br><br></strong><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong>This role will focus on the base building and MEP infrastructure portions of the project, as well as high-density liquid cooling tenant fit-outs.<br><br><ul><li>Project Oversight: Provide expert technical guidance and oversight for data center construction projects managed by colocation providers, ensuring timely completion, adherence to budget, and compliance with quality standards.</li><li>Schedule Management: Develop, monitor, and optimize detailed project schedules, working closely with colocation providers to ensure milestones are met and delays are minimized.</li><li>Risk Evaluation: Independently analyze projects to assess risk profiles related to timely delivery, identify gaps in risk mitigation, and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders on potential impacts.</li><li>Tenant Fit-Out Integration: Drive seamless coordination of tenant fit-out projects, ensuring integration across design, construction, and commissioning phases to meet high-density liquid cooling requirements.</li><li>Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce rigorous quality control processes to ensure all construction activities align with design specifications and industry standards.</li><li>Design Coordination: Partner with design teams to ensure construction activities align with approved plans, providing technical expertise to resolve discrepancies and optimize outcomes.</li><li>Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for colocation providers, fostering clear, effective communication to align project goals and expectations.</li><li>Risk Management: Proactively identify potential risks and develop innovative mitigation strategies to ensure project success.</li><li>Compliance: Ensure all construction activities adhere to relevant regulations, codes, and standards, maintaining a strong focus on safety and compliance.</li><li>Colocation Provider Evaluation: Provide expert input on colocation provider performance, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.</li><li>Site Visits: Conduct regular project site visits to monitor progress, verify schedule adherence, ensure quality standards, and address on-site challenges.<br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Required Skills<br><br></strong><ul><li>Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of base building data center construction, including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, controls, and plumbing systems.</li><li>Project Execution: Extensive experience in managing startup and commissioning phases of major data center projects, with a focus on high-density liquid cooling systems.</li><li>Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical skills to address complex challenges in a fast-paced construction environment, delivering practical and innovative solutions.</li><li>Strategic Insight: Ability to provide strategic input on program-level requirements and long-term planning for data center construction projects.</li><li>Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of data center design, construction, and operational requirements, with expertise in cutting-edge technologies and sustainability practices.</li><li>Project Management: Proven ability to independently manage large-scale data center construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.</li><li>Budget Optimization: Proficiency in analyzing and optimizing project budgets to maximize resource efficiency without compromising quality.</li><li>Risk Management: Expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to minimize impacts on project timelines and costs.</li><li>Vendor Coordination: Strong experience in collaborating with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment with project goals.</li><li>Regulatory Compliance: In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies to ensure compliance across all construction activities.</li><li>Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to provide clear, concise project updates and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.<br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Note: this opportunity will be based full time in Abilene, TX.
