We are seeking a Senior Counsel with a deep understanding of the business and legal customs in the content and creator space to join our team! In this role, you will counsel and provide legal support on a variety of matters with a focus on structuring, negotiating, and drafting agreements related to the acquisition and distribution of video and audio content (i.e., vodcasts and podcasts). Spotify's efforts are cutting edge and ever-evolving, so we're looking for an innovative, adaptable, and proactive problem-solver who thrives and embraces a high-volume, fast-paced environment. **What You'll Do** - Negotiate, draft and advise on a wide range of commercial transactions with a focus on content licensing, acquisition, and distribution agreements - Provide guidance to senior executives in support of their objectives and helping shape evolving strategies - Provide day-to-day legal support with partnerships and production teams, that includes creative and risk assessments as well as advising on clearances - Work cross-functionally across finance, operations, advertising and product teams in furtherance of Spotify's content offering **Who You Are** - J.D. from an ABA accredited law school (or foreign equivalent) - Eligible to practice law in the U.S. - 10+ years of experience working in a top-tier entertainment law firm and/or in-house legal department at a social network, or major TV, film, or podcast studio/network - Expertise in copyright law and legal issues relating to content licensing and digital distribution - Expertise in multifaceted content development and distribution - Excellent analytical and written/oral communication skills - Team player with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
