<strong>Job Summary<br><br></strong><strong> JOB DESCRIPTION <br><br></strong>The Senior Manager, Accounting Advisory Services is responsible for understanding complex accounting and reporting matters and advising companies on the proper application of accounting standards for both public and private companies. This role assists companies with the implementation of new accounting standards as well as other accounting and reporting related projects. The Senior Manager administers training on accounting and reporting related matters, both internal and external.<br><br><strong>Job Duties<br><br></strong><ul><li> Researches complex auditing and reporting problems, and communicates to clients in both written and verbal format </li><li> Designs tools and templates for use on ARAS engagements </li><li> Evaluates impacts of new business transactions combination; discontinued operations, debt modifications and stock compensation </li><li> Produces Thought Leadership pieces, conference calls and live presentations for clients and prospective clients </li><li> Demonstrates Thought Leadership, and provides value-added insights in BDO’s formal communications, articles and speeches for external audiences </li><li> Participates on professional committees </li><li> Applies, with honesty and integrity, relevant GAAP, GAAS, SEC, PCAOB and other applicable or emerging regulations and standards, as well as the BDO Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct </li><li> Other duties as required <br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Supervisory Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li> Acts as a Career Advisor to associates, seniors and managers, as assigned </li><li> Provides verbal and written performance reviews to associates, seniors and managers, as needed <br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Education<br><br></strong><strong>Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:<br><br></strong><ul><li> Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, or Economics, required; OR </li><li> Bachelor’s degree in other focus area AND CPA certification, required </li><li> Master’s in Accountancy, preferred <br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Experience<br><br></strong><ul><li> Seven (7) or more years of relevant work experience, required </li><li> Supervisory experience, required <br><br><br></li></ul><strong>License/Certifications<br><br></strong><ul><li> CPA, required <br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Software<br><br></strong><ul><li> Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, preferred </li><li> Experience with accounting research databases, preferred <br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities<br><br></strong><ul><li> Solid understanding and proficiency of accounting standards and reporting requirements for public companies </li><li> Strong leadership and management skills </li><li> Superior written and verbal communications skills </li><li> Excellent client development/relationship-building skills </li><li> Excellent decision-making skills </li><li> Advanced knowledge of GAAP and SEC <br><br><br></li></ul>Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.<br><br>National Range: $160,000 - $175,000<br><br>Maryland Range: $160,000 - $175,000<br><br>NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $160,000 - $175,000<br><br><strong>About Us<br><br></strong>Join us at BDO, where you will find more than a career, you’ll find a place where your work is impactful, and you are valued for your individuality.
