You will work as part of a team of account managers in achieving regional sales objectives, and closely monitor market and competitor <span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">activities.  </span></p><p></p><h1><b>Location</b></h1><ul><li><p>Chicago, IL</p></li><li><p>Detroit, MI</p></li><li><p>Indianapolis, IN</p></li><li><p>Cincinnati, OH</p></li><li><p>Louisville, KY</p></li></ul><h1><br><b>Responsibilities</b></h1><p><b>Sales</b></p><ul><li>Works closely and effectively with a wide array of teams as an overlay sales specialist, including marketing, local Territory Account Managers, Insides Sales Reps, other Specialists (informatics, microarray, etc), and District Sales Managers to support them in achieving strategic and revenue goals</li><li>Assists District Sales Manager and Territory Account Managers with the development of customized territory plans yearly and quarterly, including target markets, overarching strategy, on-the-ground sales tactics, and how to approach new customers</li><li>Regularly meets with customers both individually and as an Illumina team</li><li>Prepares and presents compelling technical seminars on Illumina Sequencing product lines and sequencing applications.</li><li>Develops long-term customer relationships as a trusted consultant – always brings value to a customer interaction. Connects customers when appropriate with internal teams.</li><li>Ensures that the sales team they are a part of is trained on all relevant technical, product, method and application information</li><li>Represents the company professionally, scientifically, and ethically at all times</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Technical Expertise</b></p><ul><li>Leverages technical knowledge to further sales</li><li>Rapidly becomes an expert on new Illumina innovations and products, often within a few days of launch</li><li>Reads, understands, and communicates current scientific and clinical research</li><li>Maintains a broad knowledge of the market environment, competition, industry trends, and 3rd party methods and applications</li><li>Regularly trains others in the sales team on products, methods, and markets</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Team Player</b></p><ul><li>Assists with and develops workshops, seminar series, and other marketing activities as required</li><li>Distinguishes between regular sales and business development opportunities. Inspires peers, customers, and collaborators with a passion for Illumina technology</li></ul><p></p><h1><b>Your Experience</b></h1><ul></ul><ul><li><b>Technological expert</b> on the majority of relevant Next Generation Sequencing and multiomic applications, basic informatics, and the clinical and research sequencing markets</li><li><b>Customer-facing sales or support</b><span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;"> experience  in</span> the Life Sciences or Genomics preferred</li><li><b>Presentation experience</b>. Capable of delivering a persuasive message by integrating sales and technical acumen. MBA is a plus.</li></ul><h3></h3><p style="text-align:inherit"></p>The estimated base salary range for the Senior Sequencing Sales Specialist - Great Lakes role based in the United States of America is: $98,400 - $147,600. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
