The People IT team within Cisco IT is responsible for solutioning, building, deploying, and maintaining applications that support the guiding principles and variety of HR objectives/outcomes for the company. Your Impact Senior Software Engineer role for the People IT team is critical for us to meet and exceed the expectations of our business partners in HR space. The role supports this by leading and supporting a wide range of web applications, custom development, APIs and data as a service on technology stack like Java, Elastic, MongoDB, Kafka, Mulesoft, Oracle both On-prem and in Cloud. A great opportunity to interact directly with our business partners on a day-to-day basis and solving real world problems for them. • Requirement Analysis: Work closely with HR Partners to gather and analyze requirements for business needs. Conduct thorough business process analysis to see opportunities for improvement and efficiency. • Documentation: Build detailed and clear documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, and use cases. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation throughout the project lifecycle. • Communication and Collaboration: Act as a liaison between our partners and engineering team, ensuring clear and effective communication. Collaborate with developers, designers, and quality assurance teams to facilitate the successful delivery of software solutions. • Software Development/Maintenance: Build, test, deploy and maintain various applications supporting business processes and ensure data integrity within applications. • Continuous Improvement: Proactively find opportunities for process improvement and optimization. Stay informed about industry standard methodologies and technological advancements to contribute to the evolution of the application engineering process. Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. • 8+ years of experience as a Software Developer or Software Engineer in an application engineering or software development environment. • 3+ years of experience working in Agile and/or Scrum teams. • +4 years as full stack developer with focus on: • Database: MongoDB, Postgres, Oracle • API protocols: GraphQL, REST • Backends: Java (SprintBoot), Python, Golang • Frontend: HTML, CSS, Plain JavaScript (ES6), (+ React js would be good) Preferred Qualifications • Experience with HR Domain • Expertise in various tech stack including Java, Oracle, Mulesoft, MongoDB and UI development frameworks. • Experience with GenAI, Agentic Coding and Prompt Engineering • Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC). • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Superb communication and interpersonal skills. Employees On Sales Plans Earn Performance-based Incentive Pay On Top Of Their Base Salary, Which Is Split Between Quota And Non-quota Components, Subject To The Applicable Cisco Plan. For Quota-based Incentive Pay, Cisco Typically Pays As Follows • .75% of incentive arenaflex for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota; • 1.5% of incentive arenaflex for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%; • 1% of incentive arenaflex for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and • Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of arenaflex. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
