Job Title: Site Manager / Construction Manager

Location: Semporna

Job Summary:

We are seeking a competent and results-driven Site Manager / Construction Manager to lead the on-site execution of the construction of a 11-storey hotel building in Semporna. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all site operations, ensuring timely delivery, maintaining quality standards, and enforcing health and safety compliance. This role involves close coordination with project consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage, and supervise day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design specifications.
  • Coordinate and lead the site team, including site supervisors, subcontractors, and workers.
  • Monitor project schedules and ensure timely completion of milestones within budget.
  • Liaise with consultants, clients, and local authorities for inspections, approvals, and compliance matters.
  • Chair site meetings, provide progress updates, and prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports.
  • Ensure quality control measures and safety procedures are strictly enforced on-site.
  • Manage material deliveries, site logistics, and resource allocation.
  • Review construction drawings and identify any discrepancies or design conflicts.
  • Resolve technical and operational issues promptly with minimal disruption to project flow.
  • Conduct site inspections and ensure rectification of non-conformance works.
  • Oversee the preparation of work programs, method statements, and site documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry. Preference will be given to candidates with an architectural background or prior involvement in hotel construction projects.
  • Proven experience managing medium to large-scale construction projects (building/infrastructure).
  • Excellent knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and safety protocols.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, and other project management tools.
  • Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English; proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage.
  • Possess valid CIDB Green Card and other relevant construction certifications.
