We’re seeking a mission-driven individual with clinical care experience and familiarity with AI to join BetterHelp’s Clinical Care Transformation Team, which brings together strategy, quality, and clinical product expertise to drive clinical excellence across the platform. In this cross-functional role, you will help guide AI initiatives and emerging care models, elevate clinical quality across BetterHelp, and serve as a critical bridge between clinical and product teams to uphold the highest standards of safety, integrity, and client outcomes.</p> <p data-start="874" data-end="1618" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node="">This role centers on ensuring BetterHelp’s AI features and outputs meet rigorous clinical, safety, and compliance standards while contributing to long-term AI strategy. You will lead the AI Clinical Quality Assurance program—developing clinical standards, evaluation rubrics, and review processes; assessing AI outputs for safety, ethics, and clinical integrity; and translating insights into meaningful improvements across AI tools and workflows. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a growth mindset, grounded in clinical quality and energized by the rapid evolution of AI in healthcare, with experience in telemedicine and AI applications and a passion for improving therapeutic outcomes through responsible, innovative technology.</p> <h2><strong>What will you do?</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Help develop and refine QA frameworks, testing protocols, evaluation rubrics and monitoring systems for AI tools.</li> <li>Audit AI outputs for clinical safety, accuracy, bias, and alignment with therapeutic and regulatory standards.</li> <li>Review and assess AI-related escalations from BetterHelp therapists, clients, and/or  customer-facing teams.</li> <li>Generate clear, actionable AI Clinical QA reports; communicate findings with cross-functional partners; and translate findings into actionable improvements.</li> <li>Collaborate with AI/ML, Product, Data Science, Engineering, Legal and Compliance teams to evaluate, test, and validate AI features and capabilities. </li> <li>Participate in risk-assessment processes for new and evolving AI tools and ensure adherence to evolving ethical and regulatory expectations.</li> <li>Provide clinical input to guide improvements to model behavior, prompting strategies, feature design, and user workflows.</li> <li>Contribute to research studies or evaluations related to AI efficacy and safety.</li> <li>Support Clinical Department initiatives, including office hours, newsletters, and other team programs as needed.  </li> <li>Represent BetterHelp externally in public events, webinars, presentations and/or conferences.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>What will you NOT do?</strong></h2> <ul> <li>You will NOT worry about "runway", "cash left", or "how much time we have until the next round". Really.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Can I work remotely?</strong></h2> <p>Yes. We operate on PST and candidates in any time zone are welcome to apply. We ask employees to travel to our San Jose, CA office up to three times per year plus one company-wide offsite to collaborate in person and strengthen working relationships.
