<strong>Job Summary<br><br></strong><strong> JOB DESCRIPTION <br><br></strong>As a Tax Senior, Partnerships, you will be responsible for utilizing basic research skills and applying your educational background to assist in advising clients on the tax implications of their business objectives and various partnership specific items including but not limited to section 704(b) and taxable income allocations, capital account maintenance, liability analysis and allocations, section 734(b) and 743(b) adjustment calculations and Tax Receivable Agreement (TRA) calculations. In this role, the Tax Senior, Partnerships will apply their knowledge and experience to understand potential partnership taxation issues and assist in the preparation of partnership specific computations. The Tax Senior, Partnerships is a critical member of the STS Partnerships team and will be exposed to marketing and business development activities of the group. In addition, the Tax Senior, Partnerships will be exposed to process improvement and team-building initiatives, maintaining client relationships, and will act as a source of guidance to staff.<br><br><strong>Job Duties<br><br></strong><strong>Tax Specialization:<br><br></strong><ul><li> Develops an in-depth understanding of the technical and practical issues and opportunities regarding partnership taxation </li><li> May be required to participate in organizing and conducting effective external CPE training sessions in area of specialization, involving Firm specialists, at a minimum of once per year </li><li> Trains and mentors’ interns and associates </li><li> Trains interns and associates on how to use all current software tools, as needed <br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Research<br><br></strong><ul><li> Assists in identifying when research is needed; works with leadership to concisely frame issues to be researched and clearly and concisely reports the analysis </li><li> Assists in identifying complex issues to be researched by engagement team and provides research methodology for efficient research process </li><li> May train interns and associates on research skills and help to appropriately frame tax issues for analysis </li><li> Involves firm specialists as appropriate <br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Tax Consulting<br><br></strong><ul><li> Assists with developing, recommending, and implementing efficient and effective methods to maximize client benefits, especially by decreasing clients’ current and future taxes </li><li> Applies the combination of tax knowledge and knowledge of business/industry to collaborate with leadership on recommending solutions </li><li> Works with leadership to maximize client benefits, especially by decreasing client taxes, while managing risk </li><li> Assists with the implementation of applicable Firm strategies </li><li> Assists in managing client expectations </li><li> Other duties as required <br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Supervisory Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li> Participates in scheduling and managing workload of interns and associates </li><li> May supervise day to day workload of interns on various projects </li><li> May review work prepared by interns and associates and provide review comments <br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Education<br><br></strong><strong>Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:<br><br></strong><ul><li> Bachelor’s degree, required;
