If so, the position of Animal Placement & Logistics Coordinator at the ASPCA may be for you. As an integral member of the LA Feline Programs team, the Animal Placement & Logistics Coordinator supports a program that provides care for approximately 1,500 kittens and cats annually.
Who We Are
In collaboration with the County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care & Control, the ASPCA LA Feline Programs provides temporary care and adoption opportunities for at-risk feline populations that might not find positive outcomes in a shelter environment. These populations include:
Orphaned neonates under 4 weeks old
Underage, orphaned kittens aged 4-8 weeks (our primary population)
Queens in need of a stress-free environment to raise their young
Juvenile and adult cats needing extra support finding adoption opportunities while recovering from illness or after extended stays in a shelter environment
About this Temporary Opportunity:
This is a temporary, contingent position.
The person hired will be employed through a third-party staffing agency.
The target hiring range for this temporary role is $24-$25 per hour and may be modified in the future.
This is a full-time opportunity that we anticipate will begin in April 2026 and end in December 2026.
What You’ll Do
The Animal Placement & Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for administrative tasks to support the LA Feline Programs team, including compiling medical records and updating databases, and submitting monthly expense reports, vehicle usage reports and mileage reimbursements.
This position will also provide in-person support to the program, including receiving felines from foster homes for Wellness Clinic appointments, and assisting with deep cleaning kennels and facility spaces as part of our weekly Way Station operations.
Where and When You’ll Work
This position works a Tuesday – Saturday schedule.

This is a hybrid position and will require three days of working on site at ASPCA locations in the LA area, and two days of working remotely.
This position will report to the ASPCA Way Station in Burbank, CA two days a week, and to various ASPCA Wellness Clinic locations once a week.
ASPCA Way Station operations will be moving from Burbank, CA to Carson, CA in early summer 2026.
Schedules are subject to change as needed by the ASPCA
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Administrative Support
Compile medical records for Way Station candidates and update program databases
Print foster and adoption program materials, medical records, and prescription labels
Fulfill foster volunteer supply requests
Process ASPCA adoption agreements and medical waivers
Support record management for Saturday spay/neuter appointments
Plan and schedule Contract Driver transport requests using shared communication tools
Update Contract Driver transport logs for vehicle usage and mileage reimbursement tracking
Submit monthly mileage reimbursements for Contract Drivers
Complete monthly expense reports
Complete monthly ASPCA Subaru vehicle usage reports
Way Station and Wellness Clinic Support
Receive and send out felines utilizing rideshare and ASPCA drivers
Provide attentive and compassionate care for all kittens and cats at the Way Station including daily feeding, spot cleaning, and litter box maintenance as needed
Clean and disinfect kennels, equipment, foster supplies and facility spaces while utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment and sanitation protocols
Set up Way Station kennels for felines
Monitor supply levels, perform inventory checks and restock supplies as needed
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Shows drive and passion for getting things done
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Experience and comfort in Microsoft Office suite
Adapts willingly to new ways of working, relationships or responsibilities
Able to lift up to 30 pounds and perform tasks requiring walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching throughout an 8-hour workday
Ability to vigorously, quickly and thoroughly clean animal spaces, including pushing, pulling and using cleaning tools such as a broom and mop
Language
Education and Work Experience
High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent Experience
At least 1 year of administrative or logistics experience is preferred
At least 1 year of personal, volunteer or professional experience handling cats is a plus
