What You'll Do:

The Verification Specialist provides administrative support to the U.S. Verification Unit by obtaining verifications for non-criminal background screening elements, including employment history, professional licensures, educational degrees, and DOT compliance. This role ensures all work is completed in accordance with established FA policies, procedures, and standards, while supporting the manager and Verification team with operational needs and process improvement initiatives as required. The Verification Specialist operates with a low to moderate level of operational sophistication, preferably in a call center and/or production environment, and is expected to demonstrate strong organizational skills, a customer/client-first mindset, attention to speed and quality, and the ability to problem-solve and execute with urgency, often within short timeframes.

Shift Hours: 9:30am- 6:00pm Central Time Zone.

This is a 100% remote position; individual must be open to occasional travel and is required to be in United States.

Responsibilities:
  • Learn and adhere to client standard operating procedures (SOPs) and FA systems.
  • Meet or exceed established daily and weekly unit performance targets and goals.
  • Perform all job functions in accordance with defined business expectations, policies, and individual performance objectives.
  • Conduct inbound and outbound communications as required; exchange information via telephone, email, letter, or fax.
  • Research, validate, and verify contact information associated with each background screening element to ensure source accuracy.
  • Communicate professionally with individuals outside FA, representing the organization to customers, the public, government entities, and other external sources.
  • Accurately document all elemental interactions and transactions, including inquiries, comments, findings, and actions taken.
  • Identify and escalate discrepancies or unverifiable information to designated departments for further review and investigation.
  • Achieve and maintain departmental performance metrics, including required daily touch volumes and completed verifications.
  • Participate in performance management activities, including goal setting, execution, regular one-on-one meetings with management, and employee engagement initiatives.
What You May Need to be Successful:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant work experience required, preferably in a call center or related role and/or in positions involving fact and data verification; demonstrated ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high level of accuracy preferred; PBSA Basic Certificate is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including effective reading comprehension.
  • Professional and high-quality telephone etiquette.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and well-organized with the ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Proven team player with strong collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to exercise sound judgment.

The salary range for this position is approximately $18 an hour. This range reflects our good faith estimate to pay fairly as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate’s experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
