Position Summary

Artistic Builders is seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Superintendent / Project Manager with experience in custom home building to oversee residential construction projects throughout the Wichita area. This position is responsible for managing daily field operations, coordinating trade partners, maintaining project schedules, ensuring quality workmanship, and delivering an exceptional customer experience throughout the building process.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, custom home construction knowledge, scheduling experience, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities

· Oversee scheduling and supervision of daily trade partner activities while evaluating quality and efficiency of work

· Review construction drawings and coordinate modifications when construction conflicts arise

· Manage project schedules and adjust timelines/resources as needed to maintain completion goals

· Ensure homes are completed on schedule while meeting contract obligations and safety requirements

· Stop work when workmanship, materials, or installation do not meet plans, specifications, or code requirements

· Manage customer communication throughout the construction process and resolve concerns professionally

· Coordinate with Community Sales personnel regarding project and customer activity

· Complete daily jobsite inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA, SWPPP, company, state, and federal safety standards

· Negotiate and authorize field purchase orders for labor and materials as needed

· Evaluate trade partner workmanship and authorize payments once quality standards are achieved

· Collaborate with purchasing, product development, and process improvement teams to improve quality, schedules, and budgets

· Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes and company standards

· Participate in trade partner recruiting and vetting

Preferred Experience

· Construction or Project Management: 2 years (Preferred)

· Custom home building experience

Qualifications & Experience

· Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent

· Valid driver’s license required

· Minimum 2–4 years of residential construction experience required

· Custom home building experience strongly preferred

· Ability to manage construction processes in a production environment

· Ability to direct and manage trade partner performance

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints

· General knowledge of municipal regulations and building codes

· Strong knowledge of construction scheduling software

· Basic computer skills

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction

· Ability to control cost overruns and manage budgets

· Knowledge of OSHA and jobsite safety protocols

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

· Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb ladders/scaffolding, and inspect all areas of construction sites

· Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 80 pounds

· Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and wind

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
