<h2>Responsibilities</h2> <p>Peraton is seeking a <strong>Senior Cloud Engineer</strong> to support a high-visibility TSA program. This role is responsible for architecting, engineering, and maintaining secure, scalable cloud solutions across AWS and Microsoft Azure environments, ensuring alignment with DHS/TSA security, compliance, and operational requirements.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities:</strong></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Design, implement, and manage secure cloud infrastructure and platform services across AWS and Azure in support of mission objectives</li> <li>Lead cloud engineering efforts across IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid environments</li> <li>Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM, Bicep, or CloudFormation</li> <li>Ensure compliance with DHS security frameworks (FISMA, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP)</li> <li>Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement secure architectures</li> <li>Support cloud migration initiatives and legacy system modernization</li> <li>Monitor performance, availability, and cost optimization</li> <li>Troubleshoot complex cloud/system issues and provide root cause analysis</li> <li>Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership</li> <li>Partner with stakeholders to translate mission needs into technical solutions</li> </ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <p><strong>Basic Qualifications:</strong></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, Master’s with 6 years, Associate’s with 10 years, or High School diploma with 12 years of experience</li> <li>U.S. Citizenship required; active DHS EOD clearance, Public Trust, or ability to obtain</li> <li>Minimum 5 years of overall IT experience, including 4+ years focused on cloud engineering (AWS and Azure)</li> <li>Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure VMs, App Services, AKS, Azure AD, AWS EC2, S3, VPC, IAM)</li> <li>Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, Bicep, CloudFormation)</li> <li>Strong understanding of networking concepts (VNETs/VPCs, VPNs, firewalls, load balancers)</li> <li>Experience supporting systems within federal or regulated environments (DHS, DoD, or similar)</li> <li>Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Relevant cloud certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, or equivalent)</li> <li>Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, EKS)</li> <li>Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks (NIST, FedRAMP, Zero Trust Architecture)</li> <li>Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash)</li> <li>Experience with tools such as ServiceNow (SNOW), Chef, Nexus, Selenium, or similar platforms</li> <li>Prior experience supporting TSA or homeland security programs</li> </ul> <p><strong>Key Competencies:</strong></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Strong customer-facing and communication skills</li> <li>Ability to operate in a fast-paced, matrixed environment</li> <li>Strategic mindset with hands-on execution capability</li> <li>Proven ability to lead complex cloud initiatives and deliver results</li> </ul> <h2>Peraton Overview</h2> <p>Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
