Overview We are seeking a seasoned Principal Cloud Solutions Architect to join our Cloud Solutions Architecture team and drive the design of comprehensive, enterprise-grade solutions in Microsoft Azure. This role is highly client-facing and requires a strategic thinker who can bridge business needs with technical execution while partnering closely with development teams.The ideal candidate is an expert in Azure architecture with deep experience across data platforms (including Databricks), cloud networking, identity and access management, and operational excellence. They will play a critical role in shaping solution strategy, guiding implementation, and ensuring scalable, secure, and resilient cloud environments. Key Responsibilities <ul><li>Partner with business stakeholders, clients, and engineering teams to define and architect end-to-end cloud solutions aligned with strategic objectives</li><li>Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing Azure architectures across multiple domains</li><li>Lead architecture for data and analytics platforms, including Azure Databricks and modern lakehouse patterns</li><li>Develop and enforce cloud networking strategies, including VNet design, hybrid connectivity, private endpoints, and secure access patterns</li><li>Define and implement Identity & Access Management (IAM) frameworks using Azure AD, RBAC, Conditional Access, and Zero Trust principles</li><li>Collaborate with development teams to ensure architectural alignment, best practices, and successful solution delivery</li><li>Drive operational excellence, including monitoring, logging, observability, resiliency, and disaster recovery strategies</li><li>Establish and promote architecture standards, governance frameworks, and design patterns across the organization</li><li>Lead architecture reviews and provide guidance on technical decision-making and trade-offs</li><li>Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for clients and executive stakeholders</li><li>Mentor and guide engineers and junior architects to elevate overall cloud architecture maturity</li><li>Evaluate emerging technologies and continuously improve the organization’s cloud capabilities and innovation roadmap</li></ul> Required Qualifications <ul><li>15+ years of experience in IT, with at least 10 years focused on cloud architecture (Azure preferred)</li><li>Proven track record of working directly with clients and cross-functional development teams to deliver enterprise solutions</li><li>Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure services, including compute, storage, security, and platform services</li><li>Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and modern data architecture (data lakes, ETL/ELT, streaming, lakehouse)</li><li>Strong knowledge of cloud networking (hub-and-spoke architectures, VPN/ExpressRoute, DNS, load balancing)</li><li>Extensive experience with Identity & Access Management, including Azure AD, RBAC, SSO, MFA, and Zero Trust frameworks</li><li>Experience designing for operational excellence, including monitoring, automation, incident response, and high availability</li><li>Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates) and CI/CD pipelines</li><li>Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence both technical and executive stakeholders</li><li>Experience delivering complex, multi-tier, distributed application architectures in a cloud environment</li></ul> Core Competencies <ul><li>Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences</li><li>Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams</li><li>Client-focused mindset with the ability to build trusted relationships and deliver solutions aligned to business goals</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in complex environments</li><li>Highly organized and results-driven, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines</li><li>Commitment to quality, operational excellence, and continuous improvement</li><li>Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture</li></ul>Travel Up to 20% travel may be required for client meetings, project work, or team collaboration Salary range: $140,000 - $170,000 USD
